About this Course
This 8-hour online self-paced course provides an in-depth exploration of imaginal and in-vivo exposure therapy and trauma-focused cognitive therapy, key components of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT). Designed for clinicians working with clients experiencing clinically significant posttraumatic stress symptoms, this course builds on foundational TF-CBT knowledge and skills. Throughout the course, you will observe video demonstrations, engage in clinical decision-making tasks, and apply key treatment components to case vignettes. Reflection activities and short quizzes will help reinforce your learning and track your progress.
For the best learning experience, we recommend that you have a strong understanding of PTSD, feel competent in assessment and formulation-driven treatment planning, and have comprehensive knowledge of all TF-CBT components before completing this course.

- Apply professional strategies to support your use of TF-CBT.
- Explain the principles of imaginal and in-vivo exposure therapy.
- Identify and implement the key skills required for effective exposure therapy and trauma-focused cognitive therapy, and
- Identify strategies to manage problematic reactions during exposure and cognitive therapy.
Who should do this course?
This course is for mental health clinicians experienced in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) who want to strengthen their skills in Trauma-Focused CBT. It is ideal for professionals working with children, adolescents, or adults experiencing clinically significant posttraumatic stress symptoms. By building on your existing CBT knowledge, and your knowledge of the key components of TF-CBT, this course will equip you with practical strategies to effectively implement imaginal and in-vivo exposure therapy and trauma-focused cognitive therapy in clinical practice.
