About this course
This 3-hour online course equips aged care workers, managers, and peer supporters with essential skills to provide Psychological First Aid (PFA) following traumatic events. Whether responding immediately after a crisis or supporting long-term recovery, participants will learn to offer compassionate, practical support to both residents and staff. Grounded in the five core principles of PFA - promoting safety, calm, connectedness, self-efficacy, and hope - this course provides flexible strategies applicable in various aged care settings. The course also includes self-care techniques to help participants maintain their own wellbeing while assisting others.

By completing this course, you will be able to:
- Identify the impacts of traumatic experiences on people’s wellbeing
- Describe the principles and practices of Psychological First Aid
