About this course

This 2-hour online course supports professionals who work with the trauma of others, whether through listening to people’s experiences, supporting people in distress, or engaging with distressing material. It focuses on vicarious trauma and how repeated exposure can affect workers over time. Reflecting current work health and safety expectations, the course emphasises the role of organisations in identifying and managing psychosocial risks, while also introducing practical strategies individuals can use to support their wellbeing. You will learn to recognise early signs of impact, identify personal and organisational risk factors, and apply the Prepare, Respond, Recover framework to support safer and more sustainable practice.
